The Beginning: AesMed’s Commitment Since 2019
The story of Hair Care Day began in 2020, when AesMed donated wigs to children suffering from alopecia areata during the COVID-19 pandemic. This heartfelt act became the foundation of the very first Hair Care Day on November 11, symbolizing the hope to fill what is missing – just as one missing hair can eventually regrow into a full strand.
Since then, AesMed has organized Hair Care Day every year as a non-profit campaign, dedicated to showing empathy, raising awareness, and supporting patients with alopecia.

Purpose of the Campaign
Hair Care Day is more than a symbolic event. It is a reminder to:
• Show genuine empathy to those suffering from hair loss.
• Share medical knowledge and treatment advances.
• Work together – hospitals, doctors, companies, governments, and patient groups – for the benefit of patients.
From October 11 to November 11, the month-long campaign engages clinics, research institutes, and medical professionals across Korea and beyond. Each participant contributes in unique ways – clinics may offer treatment discounts, companies may invest in awareness programs, doctors may advance research, and patient groups may advocate for patient rights.

Growth into a Global Movement
Over time, Hair Care Day has expanded its scale:
• 2020: Campaign began with wig donations.
• 2024: The initiative grew with larger investments, video productions, and global KOL participation.|
• 2025: Hospitals, overseas partners, and patient communities from Japan, China, Türkiye, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, and beyond are joining to make Hair Care Day a truly global campaign.
• 2026: The vision is to showcase Hair Care Day on the stage of the World Congress for Hair Research in Seoul, uniting the world under one cause.
