By 2003, Mesotherapy was introduced as another major breakthrough in hair loss treatment. Early mesotherapy prescriptions were mainly used by specialists and contained key ingredients such as Biotin, Dexpanthenol, Zinc, Ginkgo Biloba, Centella Asiatica, Taurine, and Organic Silicium.

At that time, DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) inhibition was considered the primary method for treating hair loss. Thus, 5α-reductase inhibitors (5αR inhibitors) became the most widely used treatment.

In 2007, researchers discovered that cytokines, triggered by DHT, play a major role in hair loss.

While systemic DHT inhibitors posed risks of side effects, local cytokine modulation emerged as a promising alternative. Since the primary mechanism of hair loss occurs in the dermal layer of the scalp, Mesotherapy-based cytokine therapy offered a novel approach.
